MEDICAL GRADE skin NEEDLING

Skin needling, also known as microneedling, is a minimally invasive procedure designed to support overall skin health by stimulating the skin’s natural repair processes. This treatment uses a medical-grade device to create controlled micro-channels in the skin’s surface, which may promote collagen and elastin production.

What are the benefits?

 Skin needling may assist with:

  • Supporting collagen and elastin production
  • Enhancing overall skin texture and tone
  • Improving skin hydration when used in conjunction with selected topical solutions
  • Supporting a healthy skin barrier

Outcomes vary from person to person and depend on individual skin concerns, skin type, and the number of sessions.

What can it treat?

Microneedling is commonly used as a clinical treatment to support the appearance of:

  • Uneven skin texture
  • Fine lines
  • Post-inflammatory pigment changes
  • Mild scarring (such as from acne or trauma)
  • Enlarged pores
  • General skin dullness

A consultation is required to assess your individual skin concerns and determine if this treatment is suitable for you.

What are the risks?

As with any skin treatment, there are potential risks and side effects. These may include:

  • Temporary redness or sensitivity
  • Mild swelling
  • Dryness or flaking
  • Pinpoint bleeding or bruising
  • Post-inflammatory pigmentation, particularly in darker skin tones
  • Infection if aftercare instructions are not followed

All risks, benefits, and expected outcomes will be discussed in detail during your consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

What is the downtime and aftercare?

Downtime is generally minimal, though some people may experience redness or sensitivity similar to a mild sunburn for 24–72 hours post-treatment. Other temporary effects may include:

  • Tightness or dryness
  • Mild peeling
  • Sensitivity to skincare products or sun exposure

Aftercare may include:

  • Avoiding active skincare ingredients (e.g., retinols, AHAs/BHAs) for 3–5 days
  • Wearing SPF daily and avoiding direct sun exposure
  • Refraining from strenuous exercise, swimming, or heat-based treatments (e.g., saunas) for 48 hours
  • Using gentle, hydrating skincare products as recommended by your practitioner

Your skin’s healing timeline and response will vary based on individual factors
